Congratulations to the small group of swimmers that we swam in the 2025 HSA June Invite this past weekend. This was a fast prelims/finals meet that attracted fast teams like Dynamo and Kansas City Blazers. Congratulations to all of our swimmers who swam this past weekend in the 2025 Firecracker meet. This was one of only four meets that we host in the prelims/finals format and the excitement was at an all-time high! When the dust settled, we ended up with 4 new team records, 11 new members of the SES team and a new Summer Junior qualifier. Congratulations to Bryce Winzenread for competing in her first USA Swimming National Championships this past week. Coming off a quick turn around from competing in London just 10 days earlier, Bryce swam all three Breaststroke events. The highlights were her earning second swims in both the 50 and 100 Breast and setting two team records along the way. Her 50 Breast prelim swim of 32.84 lowered her own team record by .1 but did earn her a spot in the D final where she once again, set a new record...

Our very own Coach Daun (who is the reigning SES Age Group Coach of the year) has just earned yet another honor. Daun has been selected to be the Southeastern Swimming representative for the Women in Governance program held at the annual USA Swimming Convention. The mission of the Women in Governance program is as follows: The Women in Governance program is geared towards identifying, educating, supporting and mentoring female coaches who wish to be more involved in organizational governance. Congratulations to Zara Kocak and Bryce Winzenread to who just returned from competing in London at the Adam Peaty Race International. Both girls were representing the NCSA All-Star team that they qualified for in April. Despite a slightly different format, Zara and Bryce adapted well to swim fast. On the first day, Zara ended up 5th overall and 1st in the 18 & U in the 200 Fly- swimming a new team record time of 2:15.60 and US Open cut. As this was only our first meet of the season, we were very impressed with results that we saw from all age groups. Congratulations to Emmeline Perry who re-qualified for Para Nationals in the 100 Breast at the 2025 Bill Keating Memorial Para-Swimming Open hosted at Xavier University. Emme is classified as an S9 and her time of 2:03.44 earned her a spot in the 2026 Para National Meet in Boise, ID. What's particularly impressive is that in Para-Swimming, there are no age groups. The 2025 Excel Aquatics Awards ceremony this weekend, was another beautiful event were we honored the 2024-25 seasons- and we sure had a lot to celebrate! This past calendar year has seen two of the most successful seasons in Excel's history. The numbers of team records, the team championships, our national rankings and countless other metrics, all point to team who's growth and development are at the very top of the country. The first annual Live Like Kate Rust 5k race was a huge success! With over 500 runners and walkers participating, the memory of Kate was honored in a special way. The 3.1 mile course that wound through the Bridgemore Neighborhood was full of Excel Swimmers, families and even coaches. In addition, the Thompson Station and Summit school community was there is full suport as well. Kate's family has graciously decided to donate some of the proceeds from today's events towards our bulding fund for a facilty in the Bethesda area....

Congratulations to our Excel swimmers who traveled to Louisville to compete in the Triton Derby meet this last weekend. Despite having a small number of swimmers, we ended up winning the combined team total and recording some fast swims along the way.
