Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed at the 2023 TNAQ Fall Invite. This meet is always a huge success for us and this year was no different. While we faced some of the best teams in the SES Conference, we walked away with a win followed by Ensworth and TNAQ respectively. Congratulations to all of our swimmers who raced this weekend in the Excel hosted Pumpkin Spice Splash. Although Sunday's power outage was a wrinkle that we didn't expect, we were able to swim most of the meet and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of success we had. Lot's of personal best swims and even 2 new team records! Congratulations to the whole Calkins Family for their successful week in Kona Hawaii! Mom Tara qualified for the first ever All-Women’s Ironman World Championships this year and she took the whole squad with her. Excel Swimmers Madeline and Griffin Keiki were able to compete in the Keiki Dip-n-Dash which was a sprint swim and run. But the big event was this past Saturday where Tara completed the 140.7 mile race in 11:50.47 which placed her 80th out of 332 of the best triathletes in the world. Congratulations to the whole...

Excel Coaches Going the Extra Mile for Safety! USA Swimming requires that all registered Swimming Coaches must hold at least a “Safety for Swim Coaches” certification. This past weekend Excel Alumni and current Arizona State University swimmer, Zoe Summar, competed at the TYR Pro Series Meet in Mission Viejo, California. This multi-stop series of meets held by USA Swimming sees some of the best swimmers in the world come together and compete and continues Excel's tradition of sending athletes and representation at this meet as our own John John Lai competes at the previous edition in Knoxville, Tennessee. As we celebrate our historic first Triple Crown of Championships, we need to pause to reflect what this means for our program. The term “Triple Crown” is used across sports and always to reflect an accomplishment higher than simply being a one-time champion. Checking in with Coach Steven and our High Performance Team In the Spring of 2021, Coach Steven created a High Performance Team at Excel specifically to focus on our elite swimmers and their pursuit of national competitions.
